Musk took over Twitter after completing a $44 billion acquisition in October 2022, succeeding Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of the platform. Parag Agrawal, who succeeded Dorsey, was fired by Musk when he took over.
Musk, once the richest person in the world, announced plans to acquire Twitter in April 2022. He has introduced various controversial company policies during his tenure as CEO, including phasing out the platform’s legacy verification system and carrying out multiple rounds of layoffs.
Many Twitter users have speculated about Musk’s replacement, ranging from himself in a wig to disgraced Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes. Musk will remain CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.
