According to the latest figure, until September 2021, crypto exchange Coinspot has hit more than 2 million active users – roughly a tenth of Australia’s adult population. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australia had 19.8 million people aged 18 and older as of March 31, 2021.
The Melbourne-based exchange said it only hit the milestone of 1 million customers in February 2021 and now more than double that thanks to the crypto boom. Meanwhile, Binance Australia said it had 480,000 customers in July, although it’s the country’s leading exchange by trading volume.
CoinSpot is known for its simple interface that allows customers to trade over 380 coins easily, great mobile apps, customer support, DeFi services, and competitive fees. Its website activity in 2021 has surged 603% year-to-date, making it the 19th most popular website in the country then.
The latest information shows that Bitcoin has been Coinspot’s most popular crypto, with trading activity up 190% year-to-date compared to the previous year. By contrast, Binance Australia said it had 480,000 customers in July, although it’s the country’s leading exchange by trading volume. The second-most popular crypto was Dogecoin, with a dramatic 3,840% rise in trading thanks to the meme coin’s exponential rise in 2021.
Alexa ranked Coinspot.com.au as the country’s 33rd most popular website, just behind Pinterest.com.au and ahead of Nab.com.au, Westpac.com.au, Twitter.com, and Linkedin.com (Coinmarketcap.com ranked No. 46).
According to Coinspot founder Russell Wilson, CoinSpot is honoured to be at the forefront of advancing the crypto industry in Australia and looks forward to what the future holds. The exchange will keep on building the most accessible and secure cryptocurrency platform, allowing all individuals to access, learn and use cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in day-to-day life.
Crypto is still in its infancy in Australia, and the greater the access CoinSpot can provide to this technology, the bigger the opportunities there will be for users nationwide.
