Twitter users and the crypto community are about to witness a significant transformation of the social media app as it undergoes a major rebrand. The iconic blue bird logo will be replaced by an “X” as part of this overhaul, indicating a shift towards becoming an “everything app.”
On July 23, Elon Musk hinted through tweets that the platform might adopt the new branding as early as the following day. The rebranding process could involve changing Twitter’s color scheme to black, removing the blue bird logo, and adopting the name “X,” as per Musk’s tweets.
And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds

The potential rebrand also extends to the website, with X.com, the former online address for Musk’s financial services startup in 1999 (later acquired by PayPal), now redirecting to Twitter. The new vision for Twitter involves turning it into a super-app, similar to WeChat.
However, this proposed rebrand hasn’t been met with unanimous enthusiasm within the Crypto Twitter community. Many users consider Twitter iconic and are skeptical about the change to “X.” The platform has been a stronghold for the crypto community, with over a billion tweets about crypto between 2020 and 2022.
While some users support Musk’s vision, others resist the rebrand and continue calling it Twitter. Various suggestions have emerged from the crypto community, including incorporating a crypto wallet called X to allow users to spend and tip platform creators.
sorry dude, i’m still callin it twitter.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino shed more light on the rebrand, stating that the new app, “X,” would offer unlimited interactivity, support multiple media formats, and feature payments and banking—an aspect Musk has expressed interest in supporting for crypto.
The rebrand comes amid challenges for Twitter, as Elon Musk admitted a 50% drop in advertising revenue and a significant debt load for the firm. However, the potential transformation to “X” aims to address these issues and create a more versatile and innovative social media platform.
