Human protocol, the provider of the leading anti-bot system, hCapture, has launched a CAPTCHA web app that allows users to get paid when they solve the various image-annotation challenges.
There are some websites when you visit, you first have to confirm if you are human before accessing. You might be forced to identify images, video components and other various content. This is the work of an anti-bot system. Even though Google’s reCapture is currently the most used anti-bot system, the decentralised protocol is becoming a force within the industry.
The program is currently being used by thousands of websites such as Rakuten, the Canadian government, Craigslist, Gartner and various crypto exchanges, to ensure they are only receiving human traffic and engagement. Studies have established that bots make up 64% of all web traffic. Through hCapture, the sites only get genuine traffic. So far, almost all crypto users have interacted with this protocol technology, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
The new Human protocol now makes it easy to earn from what people are already using. It makes it such that people will earn for every time they verify their humanity. Other than for humanity verification, the protocol is also ideal for refining computer-vision algorithms for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Ethereum mainnet use
The Human Protocol Foundation has always been looking to make the internet human again, with a focus on blockchain technology. After previously being live on a private Ethereum network, the Foundation is launching a protocol on the Ethereum mainnet. This new protocol will be for building decentralised marketplaces.
The creation of the Ethereum mainnet protocol is an ongoing work of the various blockchain-based projects the foundation has created. The first of these projects was when it expanded the hCaptcha tool for use in cryptocurrency wallets. Its “proof-of-Humanity” protocol would feature in wallets to ensure all transactions are by humans.
At the same time, the protocol looks for more than just the Ethereum network. It had earlier expanded to Polkadot.
Is Proof-of-Humanity the future of crypto security?
Ever since its launch, the Human Protocol has been making strategic developments to secure the crypto world. By operating on the Ethereum network, it becomes easy to use with the various decentralised applications (Dapps) created on the platform. At the same time, Ethereum provides the platform for developing decentralised finances (DeFi) and Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) which can also use humanity verification.
With the boom in Defi and the NFTs, there has been a surge in the bots in the Ethereum network. These bots have become an issue as they tend to cut in execution lines right before a transaction occurs, to gain from the price changes. Various traders also tend to deploy bots for automatic trading.
The proof-of-Humanity works best for blockchain technology. It helps boost the Know-Your-Customer protocols while also ensuring the integrity of on-chain governance. For now, it has already partnered with data oracle network, Chainlink and crypto wallet MetaMask which will provide access to the hCapture services to developers and blockchain nurses.
